FAQs on In-Home Senior Care
Anita’s Angels offers flexible and personal in-home care for your loved ones. By partnering with our caregivers, you can rest assured that your family member receives the best assistance possible.
As your family approaches this type of decision, there are probably a lot of questions on your mind.
What is in home elder Care?
How does in home elder care differ from home health care?
Senior home care provides the elderly with the help and support they need to stay healthy and take care of themselves at home while maintaining their independence.
The New Jersey Board of Nursing requires certified caregivers to complete Homemaker-Home Health Aides training in order to provide certified care and assistance to the elderly. This includes bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, toileting, and exercise assistance to those in need.
Why should my family choose in home elder care?
It goes without saying that you want to provide your loved one with the care they need and deserve. However, you also cherish their independence and want them to live their life to the fullest; this service enables just that!
Choosing in-home elder care allows your loved one to remain in their own home and receive assistance only when they need it. Some seniors just need help one day a week for four hours at a time, but others may require care for longer hourly shifts over multiple days during the week. Anita’s Angels is here to work together with families to create a personalized plan of care for each family and their individual schedules.
Staying at home is also a safer option for many people who need just a little bit of extra help. There is a reduced chance of infection to the client in their own home, as opposed to in a hospital facility or nursing home setting, coupled with an increased level of comfort and familiarity. In-home care is the solution! By living at home, seniors are able to remain independent while still receiving quality care. Seniors can also stay more active and live their lives as normally as possible with as much assistance as needed, thanks to our flexible and caring staff.
Finally, in-home senior care is less expensive than full-time nursing home care. Since families are able to set schedules that provide their loved ones with care only when they need it, it is truly the smart choice!
What senior living options are available?
In the world of senior care, there are two categories of assistance: in-home care and assisted living facilities.
Home care allows seniors to stay at home and receive non-medical care whenever they need it by a certified caregiver. This level of care can range from occasional hourly assistance to a live-in caregiver on a daily basis. This type of care is typically less expensive than an assisted living facility, and the frequency of care can be flexible and catered to each family’s needs.
Assisted living facilities require seniors to move out of their own homes in order to receive around-the-clock care from their staff. Some facilities offer assisted living services as needed, including meal services, housekeeping, transportation, and social activities. Some also have nurses and medical professionals in-house to care for the patients with health needs. These types of facilities are often called retirement homes or independent living communities.
Assisted living facilities and nursing homes provide 24-hour care for seniors who require this level of service from medical professionals. While this option may be necessary in some cases, it is generally a very expensive option that few families can afford.
Senior care is by no means one-size-fits-all. Anita’s Angels, INC understands that each patient is an individual who has varying personal needs due to their health, personality, and independence levels. Your family will be able to work with our staff to design a specialized plan with the frequency and care level that your loved one needs. The caregivers provide in-home care services that range from infrequent visits to 24-hour assistance, 7 days per week.
